WHAT ARE THE FIRST STEPS I NEED TO TAKE BEFORE PURCHASING A HOME?

Given our current market, one of the best things you can do is get pre-qualified for a loan. Many of the houses on the market in Little Rock go under contract within hours! While you'll want as much time as possible to find your perfect home, the best thing you can do for yourself is to find out how much house you qualify for and what features in a home are most important to you.

CAN I SHOP LENDERS?

Absolutely! When you reach out to a lender for a home loan, make sure you understand that they are part of the free market like any other business. One of the biggest pitfalls that new home owners face is not knowing that they could have gotten a lower interest rate or better lending terms on their first home. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO ENSURE THAT I CAN GET A LOAN?

Buying a home is one of the biggest purchases you'll ever make, so it's important to keep your financial and employment situation as consistent as possible. Any changes that impact your finances can also impact pre-qualification for purchasing a home. It's widely recommended not purchasing vehicles, opening credit cards, and other activities that will negatively impact your purchasing ability before buying a home.

AM I OBLIGATED TO WORK WITH ANY LENDERS, INSPECTORS, OR ANYONE ELSE THAT YOU RECOMMEND?

Of course not! While I try my best to look out for all of my clients, I will never obligate or pressure you to work with anyone that you're unsure of. Ultimately, the choices you make for your home buying process are yours and I will only offer guidance when asked.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PURCHASE A HOME?

While there isn't an exact number of days is takes to close on a house, I will say that the average amount of time it takes to close is 30-45 days. This is depending on financing, contingencies, and other extenuating circumstances. While it's my job to make buying your home look seamless and effortless, there's a lot of behind-the-scenes effort and finesse that goes into each deal I handle for my clients.
